Neck Lift Surgery

The neck is one of the areas that shows the earliest signs of aging in both men and women. Exposure to sunlight ages the skin, and genetics determine if a person will develop deposits of fat in their skin, known as submental fullness or a double chin. Neck banding is another common problem that is caused by the contractions of the neck muscles. Neck-lift surgery may help with these issues to give your neck a younger and smoother appearance.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Neck Lift?
You may be a good candidate for a neck lift if you have:

  • Loose skin under the chin and along the underside of the jawline
  • Excess fat under the chin and underside of the jaw
  • Crinkled skin, wrinkles, and lines

The Neck-Lift Surgery Procedure

At Gulf Coast Facial Plastics in Panama City, our team of medical experts is proud to offer neck lift procedures with the iGuide® Surgical Suture System. The technique improves sagging skin in the neck area without the extensive incisions that are required with more traditional techniques. The minimally-invasive procedure is best suited for men and women who have sagging skin or need only minor modifications in the neck area.

The iGuide® technique requires only a few small incisions that are used for a special type of suture pattern. The muscles, nerves and other structures of the neck are not changed by the surgery. This minimizes downtime and healing. You can return to work after a few days and resume your normal activities within 7 to 14 days. Because the incisions are so small, any resultant scars are very hard to see.
